P1F2C: THE “IRISH” GROUP:

These were the first people we were able to sign up, who actually lived in Ireland! Unfortunately, we did not find their DNA matched any of us American cousins! Lacking any other connection, I continue to call them “The Irish”!

The two tested men, Fintan and Sean, were actually known relatives of each other, so their match was not a surprise to them. Fintan thought their family probably came from West Meath.

I have exchanged quite a few notes with them, particularly with Fintan. He now lives In Northern Ireland, and passed on some local origin stories he picked up from local “Coffey” living in that area. I remain interested in seeing DNA tests from there, but so far no luck. See the discussion in the “Untested Targets” link.
