LFC NOTE:
Betty died as a young child. Family tradition is that she and my sister (Imogene) ate a quantity of green grapes. Both kids became ill, and Betty died.
My sister Irene remembers the preparations for the funeral of Betty:
“About bodies being kept in the home until the funeral. Our cousin Betty (Carl's only daughter) lay on her bed in their home south of Garden Grove. Remember that she had pennies on her eyelids to keep her eyes closed. (Now know that they would have stayed closed anyway) She was only 4 or 5 when she died.”
