He was also called Richard, he first married Judith Van Fleet on 24 December 1745 in Hunterdon county, New Jersey. Me was a Lieutenant in the Northampton County Militia. He was a farmer, a blacksmith and ran the ferry at Aten's Crossing, Mount Bethel, Northampton county, Pennsylvania. He married twice more, Adaranche Longstrat on 16 August 1749 in Hunterdon county, New Jersey and Catherine Warner in 1762 probably in Northampton county, Pennsylvania and had 13 children.
Somre report name as “Derrick”, which may have the English equivalent of “Richard”.
