John Livermore and wife Grace came to Watertown in 1634; he was freeman in 1635, and was repeatedly elected Selectman. The homestall was between Arlington Street and Fresh Pond. He is the progenitor of all the Livermores, so numerous in Maine and New Hampshire as well as Massachusetts. (Great Little Watertown)
John Livermore was b. c1606 in England, possibly the son of Peter Livermore and Marabella Wysbych, according to "Bond's Watertown". More recent investigation, as related in NEHGR CL(1996):433ff, indicates he is most probably the son of Daniel Livermore and Elizabeth Hammond Livermore of Wethersfield, Co.Essex, England.
