Craig Mr. Allen E. Craig, age 81, of Blowing Rock, died Thursday evening, July 17, 2008, at Blowing Rock Hospital. Mr. Craig is survived by one daughter, Linda Craig of Blowing Rock; one son, Major Roger A. Craig (US Army Retired) of Columbus, Ohio; two grandsons, Brandon and Brian Craig, both of Columbus; a sister-in-law, Recie Craig of Blowing Rock; two aunts, Ruby Tipton of Blowing Rock and Julia Gragg of Collettsville; two uncles, Lank Craig of Blowing Rock and Bill Bolick of Yadkinville; two brothers-in-law, Joel Coffey of Deep Gap and Ernest Lane of Portsmouth, Virginia, and his beloved dog, Scarlet. He is also survived by four nephews and three nieces. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sue Coffey Craig; his father and mother, Allen Hazen Craig and Bertha Bolick Craig, and one brother, Gene Craig. Funeral services for Mr. Allen E. Craig will be conducted Sunday afternoon, July 20, 2008, at 2:00 o'clock, at Laurel Springs Baptist Church. The body will lie in state, at the church, from 1:00 until 2:00 o'clock. Officiating will be Reverend Brent Bolick and Reverend Richard Holshouser. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday evening, from 7:00 until 8:30, at Hampton Funeral Home. At other times, friends may call at the home, 1621 Sunset Drive, Blowing Rock.
