Mrs. Claude V. Taylor

Farmville, VA, Oct. 3 -- Funeral services for Mrs. Mabel Loretta Taylor, wife of Claude V. Taylor, were held at Sandy River Church Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, and burial was in the church cemetery. Mrs. Taylor, 35, was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. N. O. Coffey of Greensboro, N.C., who survive her, with her husband and five children; two sisters, Mrs. K. Ray Burgess, Winchester, Va., and Mrs. Leighton Ogburn, N. C., and three brothers, J. Bynum Coffey, Charlotte, N. C., H. Wilson Coffey, and Clyde E. Coffey, Greensboro. The taylors resided near Deatonville in Nottoway County. The funeral was largely attended.

Mr. and Mrs. Coffey Return from Funeral of Daughter

Mr. and Mrs. N. O. Coffey, of 431 1/2 West Gaston street, have returned from Burkeville, Va., where they were called September 30 on account of the sudden death of their daughter, Mrs. C. V. Taylor, 35. Mrs. Taylor, who made her home in the Virginia town for 17 years, was known in Greensboro where she frequently visited her parents.

Mrs. Taylor also had a wide circle of acquaintances in the section in which she lived, having participated enthusiastically in work of the Baptist church. She is survived by her husband and five children, James Claude, Carrie Lillian, Norman, Clyde and Causey Wilson Taylor.

Mabel Loretta Coffey and Claude Vaughn Taylor were married on 4 July 1917 in Amelia Co., VA.⁴⁴⁶⁸⁵ They⁴⁴⁶⁸⁵ appeared in the census on 15 April 1930 in Haytokah, Nottoway Co., VA.⁴⁴⁶⁸⁶ Claude Vaughn Taylor was born on 13 May 1891. Claude died in Burkeville, Nottoway Co., VA on 28 November 1968 and was buried at Sandy Creek Baptist Church Cemetery in Deatonville, Amelia Co., VA in December 1968 .⁴⁴⁶⁸⁷
