The body is at Lambeth-Troxler Funeral Home. She was a native of Hickory and had lived most of her life in Greensboro. She was a salesperson for Mendel's and formerly operated L & L Snack Bar. She was a member of College Park Baptist Church. Surviving are husband, T. Leighton Ogburn; daughters, Mrs. J. Floyd Rollins of Kernersville and Mrs. Patricia Stephens of Long Beach; son, Thomas L. Ogburn, Jr. of Vinita, Okla; brothers, H. Wilson Coffey of St. Petersburg, Fla.; sister, Mrs. Virginia Burgess of Boone; 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Carrie Lorena Coffey and Thomas Leighton Ogburn Sr. were married. Thomas Leighton Ogburn Sr. was born on 17 March 1911 in Chesterfield Co., SC. Thomas died in Kernersville, Forsyth Co., NC on 24 October 1993 and was buried at Guilford Memorial Park Cemetery in Greensboro, Guilford Co., NC in October 1993 .44710 Obituary, The Greensboro News & Record, Tue., Oct. 26, 1993, Page B5 KERNERSVILLE - Mr. Thomas Leighton Ogburn Sr., 82, of 704 Oakhurst St. died Sunday, Oct. 24, 1993, at his home. Mr. Ogburn was born in Chesterfield, S.C., was a member of the College Park Baptist Church, Greensboro, and attended the First Baptist Church in Kernersville where he taught Sunday School for a number of years. Mr. Ogburn worked for the U.S. Postal Service and was self employed until his retirement. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mrs. Lorena Coffey Ogburn, a second wife, Mrs. Margaret Crutchfield Ogburn, and daughter, Dr. Frances O. Rollins. Kernersville; son, Thomas Leighton Ogburn Jr. of Vinitia, Okla.; brother, John "Jack" Ogburn of Greensboro; sister, Mrs. Janice Taylor of Pleasant Garden; ten grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren. Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. today at Guilford Memorial Park by the Rev. Charles Stevens.
