He professed faith in Christ at an early age and was a faithful member and deacon of Bridgeport Missionary Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Landon and Clara (Coffman) Rucker; wife, Kathleen (Coffey) Rucker; son, David Rucker; son-in-law, Stanley Coffey; and brother, Earl Rucker. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Ray and Bonnie Rucker of Rutledge; daughters and son-in-law, Anita and Clifton Harrell and Kathy Coffey, all of Thorn Hill; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Wayne and Evelyn Rucker of Morristown; sister, Mary Ratcliff of Knoxville; sister-in-law, Edith Rucker of Corryton; special friends, Roy Jarnigan, Bonnell and Roxie Wolfenbarger; and a host of other relatives and friends. The family received friends from 6-9 p.m. Tuesday, May 16 at Coffey Funeral Home in Tazewell. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 17 at Bridgeport Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. C.J. Dalton and the Rev. James "Polly" Williams officiating. Singers will be the Beech Grove Singers. Burial will be in the McGinnis-Harrell Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Roy Jarnigan, Ken Scearce, Charlie and Lynn Rucker, Steve and Chris Coffey and Malcolm Beeler. Honorary pallbearer is F.C. Waller. Arrangements by Coffey Funeral Home in Tazewell.
