Morgan died in Morristown, Hamblen Co., TN on 22 September 1989 and was buried at McGinnis-Harrell Cemetery in Thorn Hill, Grainger Co., TN on 24 September 1989 .³⁸⁶⁰⁹

Lucy Etter Coffey, 75, and Morgan Daniel Coffey, 77, of Morristown died Saturday, Sept. 22, as the result of a traffic accident.

Coffey attended Beech Grove Baptist Church in Thorn Hill and Mrs Coffey attended Dotson's Campground United Methodist Church in Thorn Hill.

The couple were preceded in death by three children, Drama Lucille and Bruce Daniel Coffey and Barbara Jean Moore.

Survivors include daughters, Mrs. Ray (Naomi) Bowlin of Talbott, Mrs. Steve (Jennelle) Tompkins and Mrs. Herman Roland (Brenda) Hurst of Morristown, Mrs. Francis (Rose Ella) Collins of Bean Station, Sylvia Smith of Knoxville and Joyce Ann Coffey of Virginia; a son, Burtchell Coffey of Knoxville; 16 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Coffey is also survived by his sisters, Jewel Reece of Tazewell and Pauline Coffman of Bean Station, and a brother, Clayton "Poodle" Coffey of Morristown.

Mrs. Coffey is also survived by her brothers, Elmer McGinnis of Oak Ridge and Carson McGinnis of Washburn.

Funeral services for the Coffeys were held Tuesday at Mayes Mortuary in Morristown with Rev. Buddy White and Rev. Junior Potter officiating.

Burial was in the Harrell-McGinnis Cemetery in Thorn Hill.
