She was born January 19, 1916 in McCreary County, Ky., the daughter of the late James A. and Canzada Coffey. On September 21, 1935, she was united in marriage to the late Floyd "Bill" Burke. She is survived by two sons-Dallas Burke of Monticello, Ky. and Carl Burke and his wife Robin of Muncie, Ind. She is also survived by one sister-Julia Smith of Monticello, Ky.; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by two brothers Tommy and Marcus Coffey; and three sisters-Lizzie Smith, Belle Coffey and Hattie Ball. She was a member of the Elk Spring Valley Baptist Church and will be greatly missed by all who loved her. Funeral services were Friday, September 28, 2007 at 1 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Dewey Burks officiating. Burial was in the Elk Spring Cemetery. Hoyt G. Hickey and Son Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Scena Jane Coffey and Floyd "Bill" Burke were married on 21 September 1935 in Kentucky. They appeared in the census on 13 May 1940 in Wayne Co., KY.41825 Floyd "Bill" Burke, son of Abraham Lincoln Burke and Evaline , was born on 21 January 1912 in Kentucky. Bill died on 28 March 2003 at the age of 91 in Kentucky and was buried at Elk Spring Cemetery in Monticello, Wayne Co., KY.41826,41827,41828 |
