General Sherman "Sherman" Phillips, son of Jonathan Phillips and Jane Chitwood, was born on 13 May 1866 in Scott Co., TN. Sherman died on 29 March 1931 at the age of 64 in Oneida, Scott Co., TN and was buried at Scott Memorial Gardens in Jeffers, Scott Co., TN.¹¹⁹²³
