Ms. Coffey died Monday, March 1, 2010, at NHC of Cookeville after an extended illness. She was born Dec. 7, 1927, in White County to the late Lonnie Edward and Lula Mae Randolph Brewington. Ms. Coffey spent her life in service to others as a homemaker, caregiver, Nanny and grandmother. She especially loved children. Her family includes a son and daughter-in-law, Dale and Martha Coffey of Cookeville; two daughters and a son-in-law, Yvonne and Jack Olmstead of Hartland, Mich., and Denise Coffey of Cookeville; two stepsons, Robert and Jimmy Dean Coffey, both of Greenville; two stepdaughters, Patricia Mathis and Revonda Johnson, both of Greenville; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Riley and Glenda Brewington and J.D. and Hazel Brewington, both of Cookeville, and Jimmy and Susan Brewington of Houston, Texas; five sisters, Byrda and Johnny Steward of Elkton, Md., Tootise Venita and Ralph Dunn and Willene and Harold Jackson, all of Cookeville, Eulene Holmes of Westland, Mich., and Judy Hoskins of Pineville, Ky.; a sister-in-law, Sybil Davis and husband Bob of Greenville; four grandchildren, Sybil Olmstead Pye and husband Henry of Durham, N.C., Audrey Olmstead of Bluffton, S.C., Amanda Howard and husband Billy of Dearborne Heights, Mich., and Travis Coffey of Okinawa, Japan; six great-grandchildren, Kenneth and Jack Pye, Kensley Kaney and Hayden, Chloe and Camryn Howard; two special friends, Debbie Tinsley and Deanie Smith; 25 nieces and nephews; and 43 great-nieces and great-nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dennis Coffey, and a sister, Dorothy Jewell Brewington. Dyer Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. |
