Mr. Rich

Mr. James Henry Rich, age 79, of Glenstone Health Care in Boone and formerly of Blowing Rock, died Thursday morning, January 18th at his Glenstone residence.

Mr. Rich was born July 14, 1921 in Caldwell County, a son of the late Roby and Cenia Hatley Rich.

A veteran of the United States Army, Mr. Rich was retired from Thomasville Furniture Company after 26 years employment. He was a member of the Blue Ridge Advent Christian Church.

Mr. Rich is survived by two sons, James Leroy Coffey of Bremington, Washington and Russell Rich and wife, Mindy, of Boone; one daughter, Alice Brown and husband, Gary, of Boone; two grandchildren, Joseph and Crystal Brown, both of Boone; four brothers, Calvin and Leonard Rich, both of Blowing Rock, Jesse Rich of Hudson; and four sisters, Pearl Crandall of Lenoir, Jenny Eckard of Hickory, Jane Crisco of Landis and Elizabeth Rich.

Mr. Rich was preceded in death by his wife, Edna Mae Coffey Rich, three brothers, Herman Pearson, Spencer Franklin Rich and Earl Rich, and two sisters, Bertha Louise Trivette and Mary Francis Burns.

Funeral services for Mr. Rich were conducted Friday afternoon at the Austin & Barnes Funeral Home Chapel in Boone. Officiating was the Rev. Terry Carver. Interment followed in the Boone's Fork Cemetery.
