Mrs. Rubie Harrison Day, 94, of 381 Gordon Day Road, Boone, died Tuesday, Nov. 24, 2009, at Blowing Rock Hospital. She is survived by two daughters, Evelyn Day Coffey and husband, Gradie, and Rena Day Coffey and husband, William, all of Boone; one son, Glenn M. Day and wife, Kathy, of Boone; one grandson, Stephen Glenn Day of Boone; two granddaughters, Joanna Yvette Burkett and husband, Garrett, and Temple McKinney, all of Boone; and one great-granddaughter, Sierra Noelle McKinney of Boone. She is also survived by a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Gordon Day; her father and mother, Shuford Emanuel Harrison and Sarah Melinda Bradshaw Harrison; three sisters, Docie Bolick, Vina Hodges, and Annie Goins; and two brothers, Lonnie and Millard Harrison. A private graveside service was conducted Wednesday afternoon, Nov. 25, 2009, at the Coffey Family Cemetery. Officiating was Mr. Harold Hayes.
