4952. Charles Earnest Coffey was born on 17 April 1897 in Freeman, Mercer Co., WV.¹⁵⁸⁷⁰ He lived with his mother in McDowell Co., WV on 20 January 1920. He died of a broken back on 1 October 1923 at the age of 26 in a coal mine in Beckley, Raleigh Co., WV and was buried at Premier Cemetery in Premier, McDowell Co., VA on 5 October 1923.^15871,15872

Charles Earnest Coffey and Lockie B. Quesenberry were married on 28 July 1921 in Coalwood, McDowell Co., WV.¹⁵⁸⁷³ Lockie B. Quesenberry, daughter of Thomas Henry Quesenberry and Lucinda Quesenberry, was born on 15 November 1901 in Virginia. Lockie died in Raleigh Co., WV in March 1985 and was buried at Beckley, Raleigh Co., WV in March 1985.^15874,15875 According to the 1910 Census for Pine Creek, Carroll Co., VA (ED 8, Sheet 2B), Lockie was the daughter of Lucy A. Quesenberry [sic], a 31 yr. old divorcee, born in VA, parents born VA. Lucy resided then with her grandparents, William C. and Nancy Hurst in Pine Creek.

Rachel Hurst, the daughter of William and Nancy was married to Tazewell R. Cloyd Quesenberry in Carroll Co., c1872. Lucy, one of their several children married Thomas Henry Quesenberry and they were parents of Lockie. After their divorce, Lucy Quesenberry Quesenberry married Tildon Turman c1910 in Carroll Co.
