Statom, Sr., 76, of 1426 W. Ninth Street, died at his home late Thursday after having been ill for several years. Mr. Statom had been a Delco-Remy employee for 11 years, leaving there in 1944. He was a native of Stanford, Ky., and had been a Delaware County resident since 1933. Surviving are his wife, Alma; five daughters, Mrs. Irene Beaman, Port St. Joe, Fla., Mrs. Helen Morris, and Mrs. Wanda Pearson, both of Muncie, Mrs. Corinne Rosco, Gary, and Mrs. Jean Rodriguez, Dayton, Ohio; four sons, Max, David L. and Samuel C., Jr., all of Muncie, and Phillip Statom, Santa Ana, Calif.; 25 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Services will be held in Parson Mortuary Monday at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Jack Flockhart officiating. Burial will be in Elm Ridge Cemetery.
