She was born Jan. 11, 1918, in Avery County to the late John Sherman Coffey and Bunia V. Coffey. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, John William Jones; two brothers, Cuba and Willie Coffey; and four sisters, Onie Gragg, Cenie Coffey, Coleen Annas and Cordelia Coffey. She was a retired secretary with Timpkin Bearing Company in Canton, Ohio, and a member of the First United Methodist Church of Lenoir. She is survived by a step-son, John Brooks Jones of Buckhannon, W.Va.; a brother, Horace Coffey of Lenoir; sisters, Carolyn Morgan of Charlotte, Mildred Holland of Goldsboro, Ollie Hollander of Lenoir, Doris Setzer of Lenoir, Lorraine Corley of Hudson and Delores Gragg of Beckley, W.Va. The family will receive friends today from 3 until 4 p.m. at Pendry's Funeral Home. A graveside service will follow at 4 p.m. at Blue Ridge Memorial Park with the Rev. John Fowler officiating.
