She was born August 22, 1939 in Caldwell County to the late Tom Cox and Jane Ellis Cox. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Hardin Cox and Boyce Cox. Ms. Coffey was retired from the furniture industry. Survivors include one son, Victor Coffey and wife Brenda of Happy Valley; two daughters, Teresa Denius and husband Roger of Lenoir, Lisa Earp and husband Ricky of Boomer; two brothers, Rev. Douglas Cox of Lenoir and Roger Cox of Hudson; five grandchildren, Danielle Talley and husband Tony, Nicholas Denius, Victoria Earp, Katelyn Earp and Berina Coffey; and two great-grandchildren, Isaiah Denius and Emma Talley. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 26, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. at Greer-McElveen Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Rev. Roger Cox. Interment will follow at Ellis Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Greer-McElveen Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
