CLEMMONS - Mr. Paul Robertson Coffey, 77, of Clemmons died Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2000, at his home. He was born March 16, 1922, in Avery County. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and was retired from R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Co. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ophelia Teague Coffey. Surviving are two grandsons, Mike Coffey and David Coffey, both of Davidson County; a brother, Bill Coffey of Lenoir; and a sister, Effie Coffey of Lenoir. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 20, 2000, at the Reformed Church of Boone. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, Feb. 18, 2000, at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek.

Paul Roberson Coffey and Ophelia Hartt Teague were married on 18 August 1945 in Winston-Salem, Forsyth Co., NC.37718 Ophelia Hartt Teague, daughter of Joseph John Teague and Beatrice Rema Dula, was born on 30 July 1921 in Watauga Co., NC.37714 Ophelia died on 3 April 1999 at the age of 77 in Davie Co., NC and was buried at Mount Bethel United Church of Christ Cemetery in Blowing Rock, Watauga Co., NC.37715,37716,37717

According to death record, Ophelia was cremated. Also, according to a cemetery listing, she is buried at Mt. Bethel.
