CLEMMONS - Mr. Paul Robertson Coffey, 77, of Clemmons died Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2000, at his home. He was born March 16, 1922, in Avery County. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and was retired from R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Co. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ophelia Teague Coffey. Surviving are two grandsons, Mike Coffey and David Coffey, both of Davidson County; a brother, Bill Coffey of Lenoir; and a sister, Effie Coffey of Lenoir. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 20, 2000, at the Reformed Church of Boone. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, Feb. 18, 2000, at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek.

Mr. Larry Richard Coffey

Vietnam War Veteran

Mr. Larry Richard Coffey, 46, of Route 8, Lexington, died Friday, May 14,, at his home.

He was born Aug. 24, 1946, in Boone, a son of Paul and Ophelia Teague Coffey. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War and a mechanic for Gravely International, Inc.

Survivors include his wife, Donna Brewer Coffey of the home; two sons, Michael Coffey and David Coffey, both of Winston-Salem; his father and mother of Clemmons and one stepson, Joshua Dean Mankins of Lexington.

Services were Sunday afternoon at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home in Winston-Salem. Officiating was Dennis Ruppard. Burial followed in Westlawn Gardens of Memory in Clemmons.

Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home in Winston-Salem was in charge of arrangements.

[The place of burial appears to be inaccurate. His military marker is found at Mount Bethel in Blowing Rock.]
