CONCORD, N.C. —Clarence Arthur Coffey, 73, of Concord, N.C., died Monday, Aug. 24, 2009. He was born May 12, 1936, in Rockbridge County, Va., the son of the late Wilson and Eva Coffey.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Margie Rutherford Coffey on Jan. 1, 2009.

He was a retired cabinet maker and a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He was a great husband, daddy and granddaddy and was a light of hope for everyone around him.

He is survived by two daughters, Hope Coffey and Cynthia Lynn Coffey and husband, Shane Treadway; a son, Bruce Coffey; five grandchildren; two sisters, Mary Grant and Kathleen Harris and husband, Herman Harris; and a brother, Paul Allen Coffey and wife, Molly Coffey.

Funeral services were conducted Friday at Whitley's Funeral Home in Kannapolis, officiated by the Revs. Stanley Ridley and Buddy Huffman. Burial was at Carolina Memorial Park.

Clarence Arthur Coffey and Margie Lea Rutherford were married. Margie died in Concord, Cabarrus Co., NC on 1 January 2009 and was buried at Carolina Memorial Park in Concord, Cabarrus Co., NC in January 2009 .⁴³⁰¹⁵

Hope Elaine Coffey was born on 12 February 1957 in Waynesboro, Independent City, VA. Hope died in Concord, Cabarrus Co., NC on 8 June 2012 and was buried at Carolina Memorial Park in Concord, Cabarrus Co., NC on 11 June 2012 .
