HAZEL IRENE COFFEY JOHNSON

Hazel Irene Coffey Johnson, 64 of Congress Street, Granite Falls, died Tuesday, March 11, 2003, at Caldwell County Hospice.

She was born April 25, 1938, in Caldwell County to the late Bealer Coffey and Lema [sic] Greene Coffey. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Norman B. Johnson; two brothers, Kenneth and Wayne Coffey, and a sister, Ellen Williams.

She was a homemaker and a member of Globe Baptist Church.

Survivors include one son, Gary Allen Johnson of the home; two daughters, Theresa Esposito of Baltimore, Md., and Pamela Eckard of Granite Falls; one brother, Larry Coffey of Granite Falls; two sisters, Doris Bumgarner and Dare Austin, both of Granite Falls; one grandson, and one great-granddaughter.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Pendry's Lenoir Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Clyde Bumgarner officiating.

The family will receive friends Saturday from 1 until 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
