Marcelee Coffey Barnes, 85, of 1662 Dickinson Rd. in Hickory, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2012.

Her funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 12, in the Warlick Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. David Payne officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 12:45 to 1:45 p.m., prior to the service at the funeral home.

Mrs. Barnes was born March 27, 1927, in Caldwell County to the late George and Ida Norman Coffey. In addition, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert E. Lee Barnes; and eight children. She worked as a knitter.

She is survived by two daughters, Carolyn Booth, of Newton and Janet Coss, of Iron Station; one brother, Shuford Coffey, of Lenoir; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

This child's actual name was given in a quitclaim deed dated Oct. 24, 1977 in which certain parties sold their part interest in property belonging to the estate of Lawrence Herman Coffey.

Marsha L. Coffey and Robert ELee Barnes were married. Robert ELee Barnes, son of Robert Barnes and Martha Jane Sisk, was born on 24 March 1921. Robert died at Lincoln Medical Center in Denver, Lincoln Co., NC on 17 May 1999 and was buried at Forest Lawn Cemetery and Mausoleum in Lincolnton, Lincoln Co., NC on 21 May 1999 .45426,45427

Mr. Robert Elee Barnes, 78, of 6670 Denver Heights Circle in Denver, died Monday, May 17, 1999 at Lincoln Medical Center.

His funeral will be 4:00 p.m. Friday in the Warlick Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. William A. Carrier and Rev. Fred Steelman officiating. Burial will follow with a DAV graveside service at Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7:00 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. Thursday at Warlick Funeral Home.

Mr. Barnes was born on March 24, 1921 to the late Robert and Martha Jane Sisk Barnes. He served as a WWII Army Veteran and retired from Duke Power Company. Mr. Barnes was a member of Trinity Baptist Church in Hickory.

Survivors are his wife, Marsha Coffey Barnes of the home; six sons, Robert Hugh Barnes of Erwin, TN, Clyde Barnes of Morganton, Fred Barnes of Connelly Springs, David Barnes of Dudley Shoals, Robert G. Williams of Connelly Springs, David Nelson of the home; six daughters, Carolyn Booth of Newton, Bobbie Jean Brooks and Debra Kay Tabor, both of Morganton, Geneva Gaddis of Longview, Betty Bowles and Janet Corss, both of Lincolnton; one brother, Paul Barnes of Marion; one sister, Agnes Cleo Butner of Bridgeville, Delaware; thirty-seven grandchildren; and forty-two great-grandchildren.

Warlick Funeral Home is serving the family of Mr. Barnes.
