Indiana Gragg

Indiana Isabella Gragg, 96, of Foothills Drive, Lenoir, died Sunday, Oct. 29, 2000, at the residence.

She was born Feb. 23, 1904, in Avery County to the late Larkin and Lee Ella Gragg Henderson. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Roosevelt Gragg; four sons, Russell "Ted" Gragg, Robert, Rule and Shirley Gragg; and two daughters, Judy Gragg and Rosaline Gragg.

She was a homemaker and was of Baptist faith.

Survivors include one son, Ashburn Ashley Gragg of Pineola; three daughters, the Rev. and Mrs. Max (Kathleen) Greene and Christie Coffey, both of Lenoir and Mrs. Obie (Justine) Gragg of Collettsville; 25 grandchildren; 58 great-grandchildren; and 46 great-great grandchildren.

The funeral is 11 a.m. Thursday at Greer-McElveen Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. C. Hugh Kincaid officiating. Burial will follow in the Gragg Family Cemetery at Grandfather Mountain.

the family will receive friends Wednesday from 7 until 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be: Anvil Gragg, Jr., Dale, David, Donald and John Gragg, and Mike Green. Honorary pallbearers will be: Clayton, Richard, Jimmy, Roger, Dennis and Eugene Gragg.

Indiana Isabella Gragg and Theodore Roosevelt Gragg were married on 24 March 1923 in Newland, Linville Twp., Avery Co., NC.³⁷⁰⁷¹ They^{³⁷⁰⁷¹} appeared in the census on 5 April 1930 in Wilson Creek Twp., Avery Co., NC.³⁷⁰⁷² Theodore Roosevelt Gragg, son of Newton Madison Gragg and Mary Jane Crump, was born circa 1906 in North Carolina. Theodore died of a cerebral embolism on 20 November 1964 at the age of 58 at home in Linville, Linville Twp., Avery Co., NC and was buried at the Madison Gragg Cemetery in Linville, Avery Co., NC on 22 November 1964.^37073,37074
