Born in Farmersville to Frank and Mollie. He attended Childress Schools and after graduation he went to college at Baylor. He gained national attention as the Baylor Bears quarterback by leading them to win the Southwest Conference in 1924. He married Ruth Clark on 19 Mar 1924 in Dallas. They moved to Colorado City in Sep 1935.They had two children. Bill worked many years at Fuller Foods, and was active until the end.

Daughter of Charles B and Mamie (Smith). She married Bill H Coffey. A talented author, she wrote the local gossip column Coffey's Corner many years as well as a book about President Kennedy. (Ruth did not have a middle name)
