Mr. Sanford Robert Gragg, 93, retired Southern Railway machinist, died May 20, 1992, at Camelot Manor Retirement Home. Funeral is 11 a.m. Saturday at Friendship Baptist Church. Visitation is 7 to 9 tonight at Mackie-High Funeral Home.

Survivors are his sons, Fred Gragg, Eddie Gragg, both of Hickory, Jay

Edna died of a coronary thrombosis occlusion on 31 August 1964 at the age of 54 at home in Hudson, Caldwell Co., NC and was buried at East Hudson Baptist Church Cemetery in Hudson, Caldwell Co., NC on 4 September 1964.^37104,37105

He was born August 22, 1943, in Caldwell County to the late Robert Sanford and Edna Raby Gragg. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Burl Gragg, Bill Gragg, Roy Gragg, Frank Gragg and Garland Gragg; and sister, Cora Ann Gragg. Mr. Gragg was retired from MDI after 38 years of service. He was a member of Refuge Missionary Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon. He also served with the National Guard. Survivors include his loving wife of 47 years, Mrs. Donna W. Gragg of the home; children, Terry Gragg of Hudson, Chris Gragg and wife Shannon of Alaska, and Mrs. Dawn Murphy and husband Bobby of Hudson; brothers and sisters, Fred Gragg, Jay Gragg, Luther Gragg, Mary Poore, Ruth Smith and Eddie Gragg; grandchildren, Taylor Murphy, Raegan Murphy, Memphis Gragg and Cora Gragg. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 22, 2012, at 2 p.m. at Refuge Missionary Baptist Church conducted by the Rev. Jerry Woodie and the Rev. Larr y Marley. Entombment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens of Lenoir. The family will l receive friends Tuesday from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at the church. Serving as pallbearers will be Tommy Gragg, Joe Price, Scott Gragg, Jon Gragg, Keith Gragg, Scott Barlow, Chris Hyatt and Alan Gragg. Honorary pallbearers will be Larry Gragg, TJ Gragg and Ronnie Gragg. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Refuge Missionary Baptist Church, 375 Mt.
