Bonnie Howington, 77, of 172 Onteora Boulevard, Oakley, died Friday in an Asheville hospital.

A lifelong residet of Buncombe County, she was the wife of the Rev. Bud Howington, who died in 1952, and the daughter of the late Harley P. and Allie Brooks Coffey. She was a member of Gashes Creek Baptist Church.

Surviving are two sons, Bill and Bud Howington,Jr. of Asheville; a brother, John Coffey of Asheville; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Mount Olive Baptist Church. The Rev. A.W. Jones will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Sunday at Williams Funeral Home where the body will remain until 30 minutes before the service.

Bud Howington, son of C. H. Howington and Isabell Stewart, was born on 23 January 1910 in Asheville, Buncombe Co., NC. Rev. Howington died uremia on 23 June 1952 at the age of 42 at Aston Park Hospital in Asheville, Buncombe Co., NC and was buried at Mount Olive Baptist Church Cemetery in Asheville, Buncombe Co., NC on 25 June 1952.^33697,33698
