Victor Coffey, 69, resident of 116 W. Park Dr., Shelby, died Wednesday, Oct. 29, l997 in MedCentral/Shelby Hospital following a long illness. Born March 6, l928 in Salyersville, KY he had been a Shelby-Shiloh area resident the majority of his life. Mr. Coffey was a former employee of Copperweld Seamless Tube retiring in 1990 after 40 years of service, was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church and had served in the U.S. Army as a M.P. during the Korean Conflict.

Surviving are his wife Gladys (Oney) Coffey whom he wed Sept. 7, l957; two sons, Douglas Coffey of Winston-Salem, NC: and Steve Coffey of NJ; one step daughter and step son-in-law, Louanna and Donald Hall of Shiloh; fifteen grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Dickie Blevins of Indiana amd Gary Blevins of Marion, OH; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Eva Marie and Seldon Holliday of Winston-Salem, NC; Joan and Bill Arnett of NC; and Ruth and Homer Joseph of Marion; half brothers, half sisters, nieces, nephews and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents Sherman and Cliffie (Holliday) Blevins and three step-sons, Johnie, Steven and Charles Oney.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM Saturday from the Calvary Baptist Church, Shelby. Reverend Steven L. Schag, his pastor, will officiate with interment in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Shiloh. Friends may call at the Barkdull Funeral Home Friday from 3-5 & 7-9PM. Memorial expressions may be made to the Calvary Baptist Church or to the family.

SHELBY: Gladys Coffey-Jones, age 83, of Shelby, died Wednesday, October 17, 2012 at the Crestwood Care Center in Shelby

She was born October 27, 1928 in Salyersville, KY the daughter of the late Steve and Louanie (Shepherd) Bailey. She was a former employee of Pioneer Rubber in Willard. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Shelby and was a life member of TOPS. Gladys enjoyed sewing and photography. She never met a stranger and loved all children. Her biggest joy came from spending time with her family.

Gladys is survived by her husband, Billy E. Jones whom she wed on February 2, 2002; a daughter, Louanna (Donald) Hall of Shelby; five step-children, Robert (Heather) Jones of Mansfield, Deborah Ann (Denny) Sweet of Ganges, Pamela (Kelsey) Maynor of Mansfield, Sandra Ponchel of Greenwich, Deborah Kay (Greg) Bowen of Upper Sandusky; five grandchildren, Marsha (Lyle Chronister) Kilgore, Debbie (Rob) Yates, Karen (Michael) Bailey, Angie Elliott, Jennifer (Matt) Roth; several other grandchildren; great grandchildren; and great-great grandchildren; Also surviving are her siblings, Owen Bailey, Elsie Howard, Ellen Gearhart, and Yvonne Hale all of Kentucky. 

She was preceded in death by her former husband, Victor Coffey; three sons, infant twins, Charles and Steven Oney and Johnny Oney; granddaughter, Amy Hicks; great grandson, Drue Yates II; three brothers;and one sister.

Friends may call of Friday, October 19, 2012 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the Turner Funeral Home, 168 West Main Street, Shelby. Funeral services will be at 10 AM Saturday at Calvary Baptist Church, 21 Washington Street, Shelby with Pastor Steve Schag officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery in Shiloh. Memorial expressions may be made to the .
