Burton, 94, of Washington, formerly of Bloomington, died Thursday at the Washington Nursing Center. Born Feb. 17, 1909, in Owen County, she was the daughter of Charles and Mary Ann (Hendricks) Coffey. She was a homemaker and worked in child care. She was a member of Eastview Nazarene Church. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Charles Edgar and Betty Burton of Ellettsville; one daughter, Lena Maxine Stines of Washington; one sister, Bernice Watkins of Gosport; eight grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar Russell Burton, in 1982; two grandchildren; four brothers, Wallace Coffey, Gene Coffey, Verlin Coffey and Donald Coffey; and two sisters, Muriel Keller and Edna Pettijohn. Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at West & Parrish & Pedigo Funeral Home in Spencer. Burial will be at Liberty Cemetery in Hendricksville. Friends may call 4-8 p.m. today and from 8:30 a.m. until services Saturday at the funeral home. Dorothy M.
