8931. Arbus R. Coffey was born on 20 August 1909 in Monticello, Wayne Co., KY. Arbus died at Vanderbilt University Hospital in Nashville, Davidson Co., TN on 6 March 1976 and was buried at Elk Spring Cemetery in Monticello, Wayne Co., KY on 9 March 1976 .²⁷³⁴⁴

A. R. Coffey, age 66, passed away on Saturday, March 6 in Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville, Tenn., following a short illness.

A dry goods salesman for many years, he was past president of Hayes Garment Manufacturing Co., Nashville, Tenn, where he had resided for the past few years.

A native of Monticello, Mr. Coffey was a son of Lorene Coffey and the late C. C. Coffey. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Marjory, and two sons, William Coffey of St. Louis, Missouri, Robert Coffey of Frankfort. He is also survived by a son, L. Coleman Coffey of Frankfort, and a daughter, Betty C. Wesley of Lexington by a previous marriage, and five grandchildren; a sister, Sara C. Guffey of Monticello, Ky., and a brother, Robert L. Coffey of Birmingham, Alabama and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 9 in the chapel of the Richard Lee Funeral Home with Bro. Carlos Coop and Bro. Paul Bohrer officiating.

Burial was in the Elk Spring Cemetery with the Richard Lee Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Arbus R. Coffey and Marjorie D. were married. Marjorie D. was born on 9 April 1915. Marjorie died on 12 July 1994 and was buried at Elk Spring Cemetery in Monticello, Wayne Co., KY in July 1994 .²⁷³⁴⁵
