19090. Robert Reaves Wright Jr. was born on 6 June 1918 in Chilesburg, Caroline Co., VA.³⁶⁵¹⁹ He lived with his parents in Madison, Caroline Co., VA on 6 January 1920. He lived with his maternal grandparents in Madison, Caroline Co., VA on 10 April 1930. Robert died at Brunswick Hospital in Brunswick Co., NC on 25 July 1984.⁴⁶³⁶³

Lt. Col. Robert W. [sic] Wright

Bolivia - Lt. Col. Robert E. [sic] Wright (U.S. Army Ret.), 66, of Rt. 1, Box 291-B, Bolivia, N.C., (Sunset Harbor Community) died Wednesday morning, July, 25, 1984 [sic] in Brunswick Hospital following an extended illness.

Mr. Wright was born in Carolina City, Va. on June 16, 1910 [sic] and was the son of the late Robert and Nettie McAllister Wright.

Mr. Wright was a graduate of Virginia Poly-Technical Institute and held a master's degree in Education from East Carolina University and a degree in Student Affairs from New York University. He served with the Fourth Infantry Division of the U.S. Army during World War II and retired after 21 years of service. After retirement he became Commandant of Cadets of South Wood College (formerly Edwards Military Institute) and Assistant to the President of South Wood College. He later served as Director of the Guidance Department at Fine Forest Senior High School in Fayetteville, N.C.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Alice Garner Wright of the home, two daughters, Mrs. Peter A. (Sandra) Brachen [?] of Severna Park, Md., and Mrs. Irving (Nancy) Cavedin of Holden Beach, N.C.; one stepson, Mr. Benjamin Whittington of Rome, Ga.; one brother, Mr. Mark A. Wright of Ruther Glenn, Va., four grandsons and two granddaughters.

Memorial services will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, July 27, 1964 [sic] in the Sunset Harbor Baptist Church with the Rev. Pater Hughes officiating.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to the Sunset Harbor Baptist Church Building fund or the Coastline Volunteer Rescue Squad, Holden Beach, N.C.
