Mrs. Mamie Grace Bumgarner, age 94, died Tuesday, June 28, 2005

Mrs. Mamie Grace Bumgarner, age 94, wife of U. Glenn Bumgarner, of Hunter Road, North Wilkesboro died Tuesday, June 28, 2005, at Villages of Wilkes Skilled Care.

Funeral services were held Thursday, June 30, at 2:00 at Reins-Sturdivant Chapel with the Rev. Mace Johnson and the Rev. Ken Minton officiating.

Burial was in Edgewood Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mrs. Bumgarner was born in Wilkes County, May 8, 1911, to William Thomas and Rebecca Coffey Bumgarner. She was a member of Edgewood Baptist Church.

Mrs. Bumgarner was preceded in the death by a sister, Ila B. Brookshire and a brother, Richard Bumgarner.

In addition to her husband of 74 years, Mrs. Bumgarner is survived by two daughters, Jane B. Roe and her husband, Bob of North Wilkesboro, Dare B. Graham and her husband, Tom of Leavenworth, KS; five grandchildren, Michael Roe of Jacksonville, FL, Steve Roe and his wife, Angie of North Wilkesboro, James Roe and his wife, Selena of Wilkesboro, T. W. Graham of Silver Springs, Maryland, Andrew Graham of Leavenworth, KS; six great-grandchildren, Stephanie & Candice Roe of North Wilkesboro, Dylan & Jacob Roe of Wilkesboro, Perry & Alex Graham of Maryland.

Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.

Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Mamie Grace Bumgarner and Ulysses Glenn Bumgarner were married circa 1931. They appeared in the census on 8 April 1940 in Wilkesboro, Wilkes Co., NC.³⁰³⁸¹ Ulysses Glenn Bumgarner was born on 11 May 1908 in Wilkes Co., NC. Ulysses died at Wilkes Regional Medical Center in Wilkesboro, Wilkes Co., NC on 31 July 2005 and was buried at Edgewood Baptist Church Cemetery in Wilkesboro, Wilkes Co., NC in August 2005 .³⁰³⁸²

Mr. Glenn Bumgarner, age 97, of North Wilkesboro died Sunday, July 31, 2005 at Wilkes Regional Medical Center.

Burial will be in Edgewood Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mr. Bumgarner was born in Wilkes County, May 11, 1908, to John Allen and Bertie Wyatt Bumgarner. He was a member of Edgewood Baptist Church. 

Mr. Bumgarner is preceded in death by his wife of 74 years, Mamie Bumgarner; two sisters, Ila Blackburn and Pansy Mitchell; three brothers, Abbie Bumgarner, Fred Bumgarner, and Ray Bumgarner.

Mr. Bumgarner is survived by two daughters, Jane Bumgarner Roe and her husband, Bob of North Wilkesboro and Dare Bumgarner Graham and her husband, Tom of Leavenworth, KS; two sisters, Emma Lou Hayes and Mae Paris both of San Francisco, CA; one brother, Paul Bumgarner of Mebane; five grandchildren, Michael Roe of Jacksonville, Fl, Steven Roe and his wife, Angie of North Wilkesboro, Jimmy Roe and his wife, Selena of Wilkesboro, Buddy Graham of Silver Spring, MD, Andy Graham of Leavenworth, KS; six great, grandchildren, Stephanie Roe, Candice Roe, Dylan Roe, Jacob Roe, Perry Graham, Alex Graham.
