19087 | i. | Fred A. Ford was born on 29 September 1918 in Mabscott, Raleigh Co., WVa. He lived with his parents in Mabscott, Raleigh Co., WVa on 13 January 1920. Fred died on 24 June 1986 at the age of 67 in Beckley, Raleigh Co., WV and was buried at Mount Tabor Cemetery in Mount Tabor, Raleigh Co., WV. Obituary Fred A. Ford Fred A. Ford, 67, of Mabscott, died Tuesday at 1:20 a.m. in a Beckley hospital after a long illness. Born Sept. 29, 1918, at Mabscott, he was a son of the late William A. and Bina Dalton Ford. Mr. Ford was an employee of the Bug Man Exterminating Co. for 20 years, was a Protestant, and a former chief of police at Mabscott. He was a charter member of the Mabscott Volunteer Fire Department, a member of the Pest Control Operators Association and was a lifelong resident of Raleigh County. He was preceded in death by his wife, Garnet J. Ford on Jan. 11, 1966; twin infant daughters and a brother, Desmond Ford. Survivors include a son, Freddy A. Ford of Beckley; a daughter, Donna J. Sweeney of Sweeneysburg; a brother, Bill V. Ford of Mabscott; five step-daughters, Donna L. Upton, April D. Rutherford and Julia A. Anderson, all of Beckley, Takky K. Compton of Midway, and Pamma S. Smith of Williamson; two step-sons, Michael R. and Richard S. Anderson, both of Beckley; four grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren and two great-grand-children. Servicces will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Calfee Funeral Home in Beckley, with the Rev. Gary Williams officiating. Burial will be in the Calfee [sic] Cemetery at Mount Tabor. Friends may call today from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Pallbearers will be Dexter Owsley, Danny Thompson, Terry White, Jeff and Pete Vickers, and Bobby Simmons. |
