Sherman Marcus Daniel was convicted on Mar. 22, 1994 and sentenced to life in prison for murder in the second degree. He had been previously convicted for "sniffing glue" in Jun., 1991. He was born April 4, 1947, in Caldwell County to the late Arnold and Ethel Hollar Greene. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Sandy Coffey Greene; one brother, William Fate Greene; and one sister, Mildred Ford. Mr. Greene was employed by Broyhill Furniture Industries and was of the Baptist faith. Survivors include one daughter, Ms. Angelique Greene of Lenoir; one brother, Norman "Bill" Greene of Lenoir; one sister, Mrs. Margaret Cockran of Cleveland, Tenn.; and numerous nieces and nephews also survive. Graveside services will be held Thursday, Oct. 1, 2009, at 12:30 p.m. at Littlejohn United Methodist Church Cemetery conducted by the Rev. Rodney Raby.
