She was born in Watuaga County, North Carolina, on February 3, 1932, to Julius M. and Sabert Ward Calloway. Mrs. Parks enjoyed collecting family photos and dolls. She also liked sewing and making crafts. She loved to travel, especially to visit family. She retired from Burlington Industries after 23 years of service. Mrs. Parks devoted her life to caring for her family. She especially enjoyed the time she spent nurturing her grandchildren and watching them grow. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Norma Jean Turbyfill and Wanda Sue Calloway; a brother, Bobby Calloway; and a granddaughter, Elizabeth "Buffy" Miller. She is survived by two sons, David (Karen) Parks and Randall (Angela) Parks; six grandchildren, David Parks Jr., Charles Parks, William Parks, Corey Parks, David Seaman, and Alissa Parks; six brothers, Albert Calloway, Frank Calloway, William Calloway, Steve Calloway, J.C. Calloway, and Gary Presnell; and three sisters, Mae Belle Reid, Iva June Wagner, and Mary Sadie Ward. A funeral service for Mrs. Parks will be held at a date and time to be announced later. The family would like to give a special thanks to the pulmonary staff at Forsyth Medical Center, Dr. Kenneth Gallup, and to all of Mrs. Park's friends and fellow residents at Assembly Terrace.
