She was born January 2, 1934 on Tye River, daughter of the late Clarence H. Coffey and Maywood Sorrells Coffey. Mrs. Phillips was retired from Mortons Frozen Foods after 21 years of service making many friends along the way. After retirement, she passed her time quilting, canning, caring for children in her community and spending time with family and friends. She was preceded in death by her late husband of 58 years, Delbert F. Phillips, one infant son, 6 sisters, Shirley, Velmer, Vivian, Genevieve, Betty, Elaine and 1 brother, Jerry (J.D.). Survivors include a son, Marvin Phillips and his wife, Lisa of Montebello; a daughter, Karen Fitzgerald and her husband Larry of Stuarts Draft; 2 sisters, Vera Falls of Montebello, Josephine Carr and husband Randolph of Stuarts Draft and 1 brother, William H. Coffey and wife Kitty of Stuarts Draft; She also leaves behind 7 grandchildren, Natasha Bryant (Douglas) of Montebello, Crystal Roberts (Gregory) of Stuarts Draft, Cristina Ponton (Robert) of Montebello, Kelly Branch (Shawn) of Montebello, Timothy Fitzgerald (Samantha)of Lexington, Julie Phillips (Daniel) of Montebello, Angela Henkel (Justin) of Stuarts Draft and Chad Fitzgerald. Also leaving behind 10 great-grandchildren which she loved with all of her being, Tyler and Robbie, Bryant, Trevor and Austin Roberts, Hailey, Logan and Macie Branch, Bailee and Parker Fitzgerald and Jason Ponton. A service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 20, 2013 at the Stuarts Draft Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes by Pastor Billy Coffey and Pastor Fred Solmons. He was born on February 17, 1934 in Montebello, a son of the late Beulah Roberta Campbell and Frank Phillips of Montebello. He enjoyed spending time outdoors, hunting, fishing, ginseng hunting as well as joking and spending time with family and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Wilbur, Ezra, and Lloyd, and three sisters, Madge, Florine and Lois. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Georgie Mae Coffey Phillips; a son, Marvin Phillips and his wife, Lisa of Montebello; a daughter, Karen Fitzgerald and her husband Larry of Stuarts Draft; one sister, Maxine Phillips Fitzgerald and her husband Sherman of Norman, OK; eight grandchildren, Natasha Bryant and her husband Douglas, Crystal Roberts and her husband Gregory; Christina Fitzgerald and her fiancé Robert; Kelly Branch and her husband Shawn, Timothy Fitzgerald and his fiancé Amber; Julie Phillips and her fiancé Daniel; Angela Henkel and her husband Justin, and Chad Fitzgerald; eight great-grandchildren, Tyler, Robbie, Hailey, Logan, Trevor, Austin, Bailee, Aidan, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He is also survived by a very special brother-in-law, William H. Coffey and his wife Kitty; a special nephew David Bryant and a special child Austin Wright. He also leaves behind a special pet, Lilly. A service will be conducted at 2:00 P.M., on Sunday, February 27, 2011 at the Stuarts Draft Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Home, 1870 Stuarts Draft Highway, with Pastor Billy Coffey officiating. Burial will follow at Haines Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 26, 2011 at the funeral home.
