Born October 12, 1919 in Amherst County, she was a daughter of the late Early B. and Gertie Davis Coffey. 

In addition to being a homemaker, she was a former employee of Clover Lawn Basket of Crozet and a member of First Baptist Church of Waynesboro. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters and three brothers. 

Survivors include a daughter, Janice R. Meek and her husband Joseph of Madison Heights, a son, Samuel B. Ramsey and his wife Jani of Orlando, Florida, a brother, Glenn Coffey of Chico, California, a sister, Betty Winter if Santa Rosa, California, five grandchildren; Jaramy Meek, Jannette Wade both of Lynchburg, Tina, Michael Ramsey and his wife Sharon, Christopher Ramsey of Orlando, Florida and two great grandchildren; Chelsea and Shane Wade. 

Margaret Earl Coffey and William Derwood "Willie" Ramsey were married on 10 June 1939 in Frederick Co., VA.⁴²⁵⁶² They⁴²⁵⁶² appeared in the census on 5 April 1940 in Rivershead Dist., Augusta Co., VA.⁴²⁵⁶³ William Derwood "Willie" Ramsey, son of William Lee Ramsey and Alice Myrtle Houser, was born on 22 November 1912 in Augusta Co., VA. He was born circa 1913 in Virginia. He lived with his parents in Rivershead Dist., Augusta Co., VA on 6 March 1920. Willie lived with his parents in Rivershead Dist., Augusta Co., VA on 4 April 1930. William died in Albemarle Co., VA on 1 September 1977 and was buried at Mount Carmel Presbyterian Cemetery in Steeles Tavern, Augusta Co., VA in September 1977 .⁴²⁵⁶⁴
