Jeremiah may have died during the Civil war. A Jeremiah Green was found in Co. E, 60th NC Infantry, age 32, died Nov 6, 1863 at Marietta GA Hospital. At the time he joined the regiment they were in TN.

Jeremiah Jefferson Green and Elizabeth J. Brooks were married on 2 March 1849 in Jefferson Co., TN.⁷⁴²¹ They^⁷⁴²¹ appeared in the census on 26 July 1870 in Jefferson Co., TN.⁷⁴²² Elizabeth J. Brooks, daughter of Brooks and Matilda Hill, was born on 18 April 1832 in Jefferson Co., TN. Elizabeth died in Jefferson Co., TN on 26 January 1917 from a fall and was buried at Brazelton Cemetery in Jefferson Co., TN on 27 January 1917 .^7423,7424
