Amherst - Inez Coffey Wright, 87, died Monday, March 17, 1997 at Lynchburg General Hospital. She was the wife of the late Herbert E. Wright.

Born Aug. 29, 1909 in Amherst County, she was the daughter of the late Frederick and Massie Crawford Coffey. She was a member [of] Poplar United Methodist Church.

She is survived by two sons, Lloyd A. Wright Sr. and William R. Wright, both of Amherst; three daughters, Massie W. Tyree of Monroe, Ruby W. Edwards of Amherst, and Dottie W. Epperly of Lynchburg; 23 grandchildren, 46 great-grandchildren, and a number of great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, Phillip Wade Wright, a daughter, Easter Wright Taylor and three grandchildren.

Funeral service will be conducted 1 p.m. Thursday at Poplar United Methodist Church with the Rev. James Wooddell, the Rev. Sam McGee, and the Rev. Garry Shelton officiating. Burial will follow in the Wright Family Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Driskill Funeral Chapel from 7-8:30 p.m. today.

Inez Coffey and Herbert Ewell Wright were married about 1925 in Amherst Co., VA. They lived with her parents in Court House Dist., Amherst Co., VA on 21 April 1930. Herbert Ewell Wright was born about 1903 in Temperance, Amherst Co., VA.

Inez Coffey and Herbert Ewell Wright had the following children:
