Lottie died on 19 March 2000 at the age of 87 at Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital in Lexington, VA and was buried at Green Hill Cemetery in Buena Vista, Independent City, VA.

Lottie Fitzgerald Goad, 87, of Vesuvius, passed away on Sunday, March 19, 2000 at Stonewall Jackson Hospital. She was the daughter of William and Indiana Coffey Fitzgerald, born Aug. 30, 1912 in Buena Vista.

She married E. Glenn Goad on Dec. 23, 1967 in Beverly St. Methodist Parsonage in Staunton by the Rev. Paul E. Trimpey. She moved to Rockbridge County Jan. 1, 1968 where she spent her married life.

In her childhood and younger life, she lived in Alto, better known as "Coffey Town." She was baptized at the age of nine in Macedonia Methodist Church which always remained her "special church." At her death she was a member of Neriah Baptist Church and former member of Marvin United Methodist Church at Cornwall.

She was active in her church until her health failed. she is survived by her faithful husband and a number of cousins.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 23, 2000 from the Bolling, Grose & Lotts funeral Chapel with Lay Minister Billy Booth and the Rev. Mark S. Davis officiating. Burial will follow in the Green Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers will be David Coffey, Michael Bowyer, Charlie Goad Jr., Lester Bowyer, Plynn Camden and Walter Camden. Bolling, Gross & Lotts Funeral Service handled the arrangements.

Lottie Fitzgerald and Elmer Glenn Goad were married. Elmer Glenn Goad was born on 17 December 1914 in Carroll Co., VA. Elmer died on 15 January 2001 at the age of 86 at Shenandoah Valley Health Care Center in Buena Vista, Independent City, VA and was buried at Green Hill Cemetery in Buena Vista, Independent City, VA.

GOAD, Elmer Glenn, 86, of Vesuvius, died Monday, January 15, 2001, at Shenandoah Velley <sic> [Valley] Health Care Center. He was born December 17, 1914, in Carroll County, son of the late Walter Goad and Charity Johnson Goad. Mr. Goad attended the Neriah Baptist Church. He was a retired from James Lees with over 35 years service. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lottie Fitzgerald Goad. He is survived by one brother, Charlie H. Goad of Fairfield; three sisters, Mae G. Camden of Buena Vista, Frances G. Lawhorne of Shenandoah, and Laura G. Douty of Buena Vista; and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Bolling, Grose & Lotts Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Mark Davis officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Bolling, Grose & Lotts Funeral Service. The family suggest that memorial donations be made to Neriah Baptist Church, 7 Borden Grant Trail, Buena Vista.
