Turner Berry Humphrey, age 83, died August 4, 1990, at his home. He was born in Amherst County November 3, 1906, the son of the late Marion L. and Sarah Coffey Humphrey. He was retired from Burlington Mills. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Mazie Campbell Humphrey; two daughters, Lucille H. Clements, Fairfield; Maxine H. Diehl, Richmond; one son, Wayne Turner Humphrey, Buena Vista; one daughter-in-law, Shirley C. Humphrey, Buena Vista; two sisters, Mrs. Sophia Fitzgerald, Buena Vista; Mrs. Birdie Campbell, Lowsville; six grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Buena Vista Pentecostal Holiness Church by the Rev. David Bane. Burial will follow in the Green Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday at the Lomax Funeral Home.

Turner Berry Humphrey and Mazie Hall Campbell were married. They lived with her father in Massies Mill, Nelson Co, VA on 20 May 1940. Mazie Hall Campbell, daughter of William Alexander Campbell and Hester Ann Fitzgerald, was born on 25 May 1916 in Nelson Co., VA. Mazie died in Alleghany Co., VA on 28 June 2011 and was buried at Green Hill Cemetery in Buena Vista, Independent City, VA on 1 July 2011 .42697,42698

Mazie Hall Campbell Humphrey, 95, of Buena Vista, passed away Tuesday, June 28, 2011, at Golden Living Center Alleghany. 

Born on May 25, 1916, in Nelson County, daughter of the late William "Will" Alexander Campbell and Hester Ann Fitzgerald Campbell. 

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Humphrey was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Turner Berry Humphrey "Hi Neighbor"; her son, Wayne Turner Humphrey; her brother, John Henry Campbell Sr. 

She has been a lifelong member of the Pentecostal Holiness Church, most recently, Mountain View Pentecostal Holiness Church on Borden Grant Trail. Mazie was employed by James Lees & Sons in the spinning mill for 18 years. She studied to become a nurse's aide and gave good care to her patients for many years. 

Surviving her are her two daughters, Lucille H. Clements, of Fairfield, Maxine H. Coffey and husband, Linwood, of Buena Vista and Lynchburg; her half brothers, Alvin and Paul Campbell; five grandchildren, Nona Harris, Barbara May and husband, Joe, Wayne Humphrey Jr., Jeremy Humphrey, Richard Clements II, and Tonia Burger and her husband, Ben; six great-grandchildren, Jacob, Melissa, Richard III, Savannah, Jessie, and Ailene. 

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, July 1, 2011, at Buena Vista Pentecostal Holiness Church with the Rev. W. David Bain and the Rev. Tom Cochran officiating. Burial will follow at Green Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, June 30, 2011, at the funeral home. Arrangements by Bolling, Grose & Lotts Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Buena Vista.
