STUARTS DRAFT-Harold Bernard Coffey Jr., 53,of 153 Falling Rock Drive, died Sunday afternoon (May 26, 1996) at his residence.

He was born Aug. 7, 1942, in Charlottesville, a son of Roxie Arline Claytor Coffey and Harold Bernard Coffey Sr.

He was employed by the Waynesboro Police Department since 1970.

Mr. Coffey was a member of St. John's Catholic Church. He graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in 1958 and attended Blue Ridge Community College.

He is survived by his wife, Sharon Pitcher Coffey; a stepson, John C. Howard; one daughter, Sherri D. Armstrong of Stuarts Draft; one son, Carlos D. Coffey of Staunton; three grandchildren; and a sister, Brenda McMaster of Fishersville.

A service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Stuarts Draft chapel of Etter-Reynolds Funeral Service by the Rev. William O'Brien with burial in Augusta Memorial Park.

Active pallbearers will be Dennis Back, Jesse Shaver, Don Galloway, Berkeley Harner, Scott Burnett and Charles Morton.

Honorary pallbearers will be the Waynesboro Police Department, the Augusta County Sheriff's Department, and the agents of the Alcoholic Beverage Control Board.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. today in the funeral home and other times at the residence.

Mr. Coffey's grandchildren are James Coffey, Kristen Armstrong and Cody Armstrong.
