Coffey, 79, died Tuesday morning at the home of her niece, Mrs. Brown H. Staton, near Spottswood. She was the widow of Schuyler Coffey, and is survived by a sister, Mrs. Rice Blackwell, Spottswood; a brother, Wetzel Coffey, Augusta Springs, and several nieces and nephews. The funeral was held yesterday at Timber Ridge Presbyterian Church, the Rev. Robert Ray and the Rev. Gaston Boyle officiating. Burial was in the nearby cemetery. In 1930, a widowed Mary S. Coffee [sic] is found residing as a boarder in the South River, Rockbridge Co., VA home of Brown H. Staton. She is not yet proven to be the widow of Schyler.
