36. Rev. John Cleveland⁸⁵ was born circa 1740 in Orange Co., VA.

The source Edmund West, comp. Family Data Collection - Births[database online] Provo, UT: Ancestry.com, 2001 gives his birth year as 1738.
Some researchers report John as being the oldest child, and born c1730. Probably not true. This John became a Baptist minister in Wilkes Co., NC (see land entry dated Jan. 1779), and was later in South Carolina. Said to have died at Cleveland's Ferry, Tugalo River in South Carolina. Others have his death in 1820-21 in Georgia.

Rev. John Cleveland and Mary McCann were married. Mary McCann was born (date unknown).
