North Wilkesboro, March 26-James Calvin Coffey, 82, died Thursday night at his home in the Wilbar community. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Elizabeth Coffey, two daughters, Mrs. Walter Wyatt of Vannoy and Mrs. Louisa Shepherd of Wilbar; two brothers, J. T. Coffey of Wilbar and Larkin Coffey of Route 1, North Wilkesboro; three sisters, Mrs. Ellen Johnson of Wilkesboro, Mrs. Becky Bumgarner of North Wilkesboro and Mrs. Carolina Key of Laurel Springs. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Sunday at the home by the Rev. Kermit McGrady. Burial will be in the Patrick Family Cemetery.

James Calvin Coffey and Elizabeth Patrick were married circa 1891 in North Carolina. They appeared in the census on 13 January 1920 in Union Twp., Wilkes Co., NC.15028 They15028 appeared in the census on 5 April 1930 at Union Twp. in Wilkes Co., NC.15029 Elizabeth Patrick, daughter of Isom Patrick and Matilda Coffey, was born on 20 November 1869 in Wilkes Co., NC. Elizabeth died of natural causes on 15 December 1955 at the age of 86 in Wilbar, Union Twp., Wilkes Co., NC and was buried at Patrick Cemetery in Roaring River, Wilkes Co., NC on 18 December 1955.15027

Elizabeth married J. C. Coffey, parents as yet unknown. They had a daughter named Ellen who married Charlie Walker. Ellen died in Iredell Co., NC in 1942.
