Viewing Hours 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM, Thursday, December 18th, 2008 Mary Owen Stewart passed away Tuesday, December 16, 2008 in Tulsa at the age of 91 years. She was born September 3, 1917 in Sallisaw to Nathan Eber and Effie Eliza (Coffey) Long. Maggie married Benjamin Bennie Owen April 2, 1938 and was blessed with three children. Her husband, Bennie, passed away September 4, 1994. She was also preceded in death by her parents, four brothers and one sister. Maggie later married Earnest Stewart and enjoyed nine wonderful years with him. She was a charter member of the First Assembly of God in Wagoner and currently was attending the Dawson Free Will Baptist Church in Tulsa. Maggie was very active and enjoyed traveling, sewing, knitting, singing, drawing, painting, fishing, writing and doing different crafts. Maggie is survived by her husband, Earnie Stewart of the home; her daughter Joanne Potter and husband, Don of Broken Arrow; sons, Kenny and Liz Owen of Branson, Missouri and Steve Owen and wife Debbie of Vinita, Oklahoma; six grandchildren, Tami Collins and husband, Bryan, of Broken Arrow, Tommy Reeves and wife, Shirley of Broken Arrow, Terri Craig and husband, Michael, of Broken Arrow, Tracy Wilson and husband, David of Wagoner, Heath Owen and fianc, Sarah Murphy, of Kansas City, Missouri, Amanda Sells and husband, Shane, of Coffeyville, Kansas; eleven great grandchildren; sister, Ruby Misenheimer and husband, Clyde of Tulsa; six sons, Ralph Stewart and wife, Pamela of Verdigris, Leroy Stewart and wife, Debra of Catoosa, Mark Stewart and wife, Sala of Sand Springs, Victor Stewart and wife, Terry of Atlanta, Georgia, Andy Stewart and wife, Belinda of Broken Arrow and Roger Stewart of Tulsa and many nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, December 19, 2008 in the First Assembly of God with the Reverend Carl Murphy officiating. Interment will follow in Elmwood Cemetery under the direction of Hersman-Nichols Funeral Home.
