Obituary, The News-Topic, Lenoir, Caldwell Co., NC, Fri., Mar. 23, 2012 Clara Mae Coffey Smith, 84, of Hudson passed away Wednesday, March 21, 2012 at the Lutheran Home Hickory West. Mrs. Smith was born in Caldwell County to the late George White [sic] Coffey and Lula Jane Barlow Coffey. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband George Lincoln Smith, four sisters and a brother. She was retired from the furniture industry and a member of Friendship Baptist Church. Survivors include her son, George Edward Smith and wife Patsy of Lenoir; daughters, Dianne Bumgarner and husband Steve of Hudson and Elaine Walsh and husband Darrin of Lenoir. She also leaves behind six grandchildren and ten great grandchildren to cherish her memory. A funeral service will be held Friday, March 23, 2012 at 5:30 p.m. in Pendry's Chapel with Reverend Frank Denning and Reverend Lonnie Bell officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at Pendry's Funeral Home prior to the service from 4:00 until 5:30 p.m. Serving as pallbearers will be Shannon Bumgarner, Chad Bumgarner, Eddie Smith II, Kirby Anderson, Jeremy Hodges and Jon Woodruff.
