Mary Oileen Coffey Tolbert, 64, of Twenty-First Street SW, died Oct. 10, 1997 at Duke Hospital. Born Jan. 27, 1933, in Caldwell County, she was a daughter of the late Joseph Howard and Florence Hartley Coffey. A member of Longview Baptist Church, she was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Henry Tolbert; and a brother, Leland Coffey.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Kevin and Cathy Tolbert of Hickory; a daughter, Mrs. Kenneth (Sharon) Flinchum of Advance: six brothers, Alvin Coffey of Blowing Rock, Russell Coffey, Kenneth Coffey, and Joe Coffey of Lenoir, Ron Coffey of Iron Station, and Robert Coffey of Boone; three sisters, Kathleen Hennessee and Doris Hawkins of Lenoir, and Willa Tolbert of Charlotte; and two grandsons, Daniel Tolbert of Hickory and
Andrew Flinchum of Advance.

The funeral will be conducted by the Rev. Arthur Kreidel at 3 p.m. Sunday at her church.

The body will be placed in the church 30 minutes prior to the funeral service. Burial will be at Mt. Herman Methodist Church in Hudson.

The family will be at Hickory Funeral Home from 7 to 8:30 tonight.

Mary Oileen Coffey and Paul Henry Tolbert were married on 4 October 1952 in Hudson, Caldwell Co., NC.⁴⁶²⁶¹ Paul Henry Tolbert, son of Edgar Henry Tolbert and Claudia Williams, was born on 23 January 1933 in Caldwell Co., NC. Paul died in Hickory, Catawba Co., NC on 31 October 1993 and was buried at Mount Hermon Methodist Church Cemetery in Lenoir, Caldwell Co., NC in November 1993 .⁴⁶²⁶²
