Charles died on 7 May 1973 at the age of 76 in Perry Co., MO and was buried at Mount Hope Cemetery in Perryville, Perry Co., MO.²⁶⁶²³

Charles Herbert Coffey and Alice Mary Staelens were married. Alice Mary Staelens, daughter of Alois Staelens and Mary E. , was born on 15 August 1895 in Missouri. Alice died of acute posterior myocardial infarction and was buried at on 30 April 1963 at the age of 67 at Perry County Memorial Hospital in Perryville, Perry Co., MO and was buried at Mount Hope Cemetery in Perryville, Perry Co., MO.^26609,26610
