Glenna Marguerite Coffey, 89, of Waynesboro passed away on Saturday, February 17, 2018 in Waynesboro.Born May 25, 1928 in Stuarts Draft, she was the daughter of the late William F. and Bertie Harris Desper. Glenna graduated from Stuarts Draft High School. On November 29, 1948 in Sherando, VA she married Kelley Coffey, Jr. Glenna was a homemaker and also worked part time as a sales clerk for Southern Department Store for many years. She attended Oak Hill United Methodist Church where she served in many church activities. She loved reading the Bible, cooking, baking, arranging flowers, sewing, knitting, crocheting and working on craft items.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by nine brothers and sisters.In addition to her husband, survivors include her children, Roy Dale Coffey and wife, Janice and Susan Coffey Newman and husband, Jon; two granddaughters, Renee Newman Kreig and husband, Aaron and Sarah Coffey Pruett and husband, Scott; and two great grandchildren, Lilly and Cody Kreig.A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 22, 2018 at Oak Hill United Methodist Church, 1862 Lyndhurst Road, Waynesboro. I spoke with the funeral home 8/31/2018 and they confirm that no graveside services were held. Remains were cremated and given to the family.
